Save Instagram downloads on iPhone or iPad

Use Safari to open the relevant ReelDown downloader and paste a direct link to a post you own or have permission to save.

Save and find the file

  1. Submit the link and check that the preview matches your post.
  2. Tap the returned file download button. Confirm the browser’s download prompt if one appears.
  3. Open Safari’s Downloads list to check that the transfer finished. You can also look in the Files app’s Downloads folder; its location depends on your Safari settings.
  4. Open the file to review it. If the share menu offers Save Video or Save Image, use that option to add a supported file to Photos.

Apple explains how to find Safari downloads in Files.

If you downloaded an album

When ReelDown offers a ZIP for a carousel, save it in Files and open the archive to access its items. You can also use the individual photo and video buttons. An archive contains only the returned items selected for that download.

If the file is missing

Check the transfer status and free storage first. A file in Files is not automatically a Photos entry. If a media link has expired, submit the original post again to request a fresh result. Do not install an unrelated app or enter Instagram credentials to fix a failed download.
