How ReelDown Works
ReelDown turns a public social media link into a file you can save. Copy the link, paste it into the right tool, preview the result and download it. Here is what happens at each step and how to choose the right tool for your link.

Copy the Public Link
Every download starts with the link to one specific post, video, Reel, Story or Pin.

On TikTok
Tap the Share arrow on the right side of the video and choose Copy link.

On Facebook and Pinterest
On Facebook, tap Share under the video and choose Copy link. On Pinterest, open the Pin, tap the Share icon and choose Copy link.

ReelDown Fetches the Public Media
When you press Download, ReelDown looks up the public link and prepares the files that are available.
Fetched on request
ReelDown requests the media from the platform's public servers or through media-processing services at the moment you ask. There is no stored library of other people's content.
Best available quality
ReelDown returns the versions the original post offers. When more than one quality is available, the tool shows the options. A file can never be sharper than the original upload.
Fast repeat requests
Results are kept for a short time, so opening the same link again loads faster. Temporary files are deleted automatically.
Fair daily limits
To keep the service fast for everyone and stop bots, each visitor can make a limited number of new requests per day. Links you already opened do not count again.

Photos and videos appear on the page, so you can check you have the right post before saving anything.

Download
Tap Download next to a file. For carousels, Stories and Highlights, every item has its own button, and you can also save them all at once.

Find the file
On iPhone, look in the Files app under Downloads, or in Photos if you chose Save to Photos. On Android, check Downloads or Gallery. On a computer, open your browser's Downloads folder.

When a Link Does Not Work
Most errors have a simple cause.

Private or deleted content
Posts from private accounts, deleted posts and expired Stories cannot be downloaded. ReelDown never bypasses privacy settings.

Wrong type of link
A profile, feed, board or search page is not a single post. Copy the link of the exact post, Reel, video or Pin, and use the matching tool.

Temporary errors
Platforms change how they deliver media from time to time. If a public link fails, wait a few minutes and try again, or send us the link so we can check it.

How ReelDown Works FAQ
Is ReelDown free?
Yes. Every ReelDown tool is free to use, with no sign-up.
Do I need to log in to Instagram or TikTok?
No. ReelDown never asks for your login or password. A public link is all you need.
Will the creator know I downloaded their post?
ReelDown never logs in as you, so your download is not linked to your social media account and does not appear in your activity.
Where are downloaded files saved?
Files are saved to your device's normal downloads location: the Files app or Photos on iPhone, Downloads or Gallery on Android, and the browser's Downloads folder on a computer.
Why do I see "Daily limit reached"?
Each visitor can make a limited number of new requests per day to protect the service from bots. Links you already opened do not count again, and the limit resets the next day.
